2020 Game 1 vs Navy and Game 6 at Army The Air Force football team honored the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African-American pilots who served in the segregated US Army Air Corps (AAC) during World War II. Four different insignia are worn on the helmets, each commemorating one of the squadrons that comprised the 332nd Fighter Group. The helmets, which are a chrome base, will feature the p-51 aircraft flown by the airmen with the signature red tails and nose that helped identify the squadron. This helmet is the insignia for the 302nd Squadron. |
